Château Lavillotte
Structure – Power – Complexity
A dense and deep Saint-Estèphe, built for aging.
Acquired by Jacques Pedro in 1964, when it was lying fallow, Château Lavillotte has been brought back to life through years of patient work. Its gravelly subsoil produces the most typical of our Saint-Estèphe wines, a wine that fully reveals itself over time.

Our Tasting Notes
Beautiful purplish hue. The nose, already open, expresses notes of fresh fruit, strawberry, and raspberry. The attack, round and graceful, reveals silky tannins that are already well-integrated. The finish leaves a beautiful aromatic persistence.

Our Tasting Notes
After a mild and humid spring marked by high mildew pressure, flowering took place calmly in early June. The summer, hot and stormy, saw a heatwave in mid-August without penalizing ripeness. A beautiful Indian summer allowed for the harvest of ripe, healthy grapes from mid-September to early October. The result is a great classic and balanced vintage, fruit-forward, with lovely freshness and silky tannins.

Our Tasting Notes
A spring frost in early April, followed by a cool and humid spring conducive to mildew: flowering stretched into June. The summer, cool and rainy, delayed ripening, which was saved by a sunny September. The late harvest spanned from late September to mid-October. The result is a classic vintage, fresh and elegant, with vibrant fruit.

Our Tasting Notes
A very rainy spring led to exceptional mildew pressure. Then everything changed: from July, a hot, dry, and bright summer set in and lasted until autumn. The harvest took place calmly from mid-September to early October, with healthy and perfectly ripe grapes. The result is a great solar vintage, rich and concentrated, with ripe and velvety tannins.

Our Tasting Notes
A very rainy winter and spring maintained high mildew pressure; flowering took place in early June. Then drought set in: the summer, hot and very dry, lasted until mid-September, when a welcome rain restarted the ripening process. The harvest stretched from late September to mid-October. The result is one of the greatest vintages of the decade on the Left Bank, powerful and fresh.

Tasting Advice
SERVING TEMPERATURE
Between 19 and 20°C
Recent Vintages
Open one hour before serving. Its suppleness allows it to accompany roasted white meats (veal, farm poultry) as well as duck breast, lamb, or fine charcuterie.
Older Vintages
Open just before serving, without decanting. Pairs well with poultry with porcini mushrooms, veal with morels, or pressed cheeses like Comté.
