I realize that I have no regrets in my life. I have achieved everything that I really wanted to achieve. I am still learning my trade. I am lucky enough to still be working and to have multiple projects that drive me.

Historique du Château

1830

The vineyard of Château Le Meynieu has existed since the eighteenth century while the construction of the castle dates from 1830 at the same time as most of the castles were built in the Médoc.

At that time, the production of Château Le Meynieu which belonged to the COURREJOLES family was 45 barrels and the wines already renowned were among the best of the Médoc and were mainly reserved for the Nordic market and especially Dutch.

1874

In 1874, just before the phylloxera invasion in the Médoc, Château Le Meynieu, whose owner was Monsieur BOUQUIE, also mayor of Vertheuil, was classified as a cru bourgeois producing 30 barrels of wine per year that were awarded medals at the Amsterdam and Le Havre exhibitions.

1908

Later, after this phylloxera crisis, the vineyard was replanted and we find in the edition of Feret of 1908 that Château Le Meynieu belonging to the GUE family, is mentioned in Cru Bourgeois with a production of 30 barrels of wines..

1956

And then during the first fifty years of the last century some owners succeeded each other with productions always appreciated until the fatal frosts of February 1956 which caused significant damage to the vineyards of Meynieu as to the entire Bordeaux vineyard..

1962

In the early 60s, Jacques PEDRO bought the wasteland plots of Château LAVILLOTE and then that of Domaine de la Ronceray and replanted his vineyard

1974

In 1974, he built an underground bottle cellar topped by a 467m2 barrel cellar.
