barriques de vin domaine de la ronceray

Balance

The Domaine de la Ronceray, which is situated on a plateau with a stony subsoil adjacent to the Château Lavillotte, is also planted with selected noble grape varieties.

This Saint-Estephe vineyard receives the same classic cultivation methods and the same traditional care in vinification and conservation as Château LAVILLOTTE. This is how the Domaine de la Ronceray produces generous but velvety and mellow wines that are much sought after for their finesse.

Cru de Saint-Estèphe

appellation

Appellation :

A.O.C Saint-Estèphe

vallée

Situation géographique et sol :

Domaine de la Ronceray is located with a privileged situation on the great plateau of Saint-Estèphe on clayey chalk and stony subsoil.

grappe de raisin

Le vignoble :

Size of estate : 2 hectares vineyard. Grape varieties : 65% de Cabernet sauvignon, 35% de Merlot. The average age of the vines is 35 years.

tonneau

Vinification :

The harvest is late to ensure a good and complete maturity of the grapes. The vinification is traditional with a long vatting, frequent pump-overs during fermentation, and a perfect control of temperatures thanks to an efficient thermoregulation system. After flows, the wine is sung in new oak barrels selected and renewed every year (30 to 40%). During the shelf life of about 15 months, it is regularly racked and then glued naturally and without filtration before bottling. An underground cellar with ideal temperatures and hydrometry allows bottles to be stored in the best conditions for aging.

verre de vin

Dégustation :

Tannic wine with a lot of roundness and sweetness.
Its colour is ruby coloured, deep with purplish reflections. Its nose is frank and expressive. Its 12-month aging in oak barrels gave it a vanilla and toasted nose, silky palate and round tannins.
A wine with an aromatic persistence, which can be drunk now but also with a potentail of aging thanks to its tannins.

verre de vin

Dégustation :

Powerful, complex nose, black fruits. Aging in barrels gives it an elegant nose with vanilla notes.
The palate is round and silky with tannins.

Balanced, long, full palate. Pretty ripe fruits.

Nice now but will only be better in 3 or 4 years. Quite large aging potential, 10 years without worries.
